Ghosts can't exist given our currently known laws.

I know people will call me intolerant, but if you believe that ghosts can exist given the currently understood laws of our universe, then you don't understand the currently understood laws of our universe.

As an atheist, I'd expect you to not believe that it is a spirit of a person, however I don't see how you can believe that a ghost could exist with the same given properties that a spirit would be given. Think about what you wrote; you said the ghost entity has weight, since it can be measured at death. How then would something that has weight and some form of mass have no magnetic properties to keep it bound together? With the natural laws of the universe, even the smallest building block is magnetic, everything is energy. I don't dispute things being able to travel through walls, we already know some radiation can do that, but even energy has mass, and no matter the form, can react to this world in some way.
As is the ideas of a ghost do interact with the world, by moving furniture, speaking, ect...
I would say that if spirits don't exist, seeing that they are supernatural or outside the natural laws of the universe, then ghosts which are also supernatural don't exist either.
As a christian we know that "ghosts" are really demons, or more specifically, familiar spirits, which is demons that take on the form of human that someone knows to get people believing in anything but God.
Yet put religion aside, ghosts can't exist as that would mean a form of life after death and since your an atheists your world views are against that. Since your ideas of the creation without a God means that everything was an accident that set things in motion. Which means no ultimate purpose or meaning for life and therefore no plan for a life after death. You just cease to exist. Human consciousness is created by electrical signals from chemical reactions in the brain. So no it can't share the properties of a ghost since our consciousness can't move physical objects.

When people die, all their muscles relax including their sphincter which allows them to evacuate their bowels. They certainly lose some weight when that happens. If you are talking over a long period of time it is obviously decay.

Human consciousness is a product of brain activity its not "created" by some outside material. The mind-body question is flawed from the beginning because by asking the question you assume they are two separate entities when actually a function of the brain is consciousness.

Unless a wall is porous nothing will pass through it. if you put a smell in a room that is completely airtight and has no ventilation the smell will stay there, physical things cannot pass through other things unless it has a hole large enough tp allow the particles in question through. Ever try blowing air through a wall?

I think ghosts exist or not is just dependent on the way you thinking, simply because there's no evidence to prove it exists or not exists.

in the science way to think, there's no evidence or any credible theory to prove that ghost exists,so we assume it's not exist or it is totally no affect to us.

but in other way,we can simply say that ghost is exist in the believer's mind.

there are a bunch of laws of universe that we haven't found yet,we can assume the ghost can be exist but not violate those laws.

A ghost is defined as something that is "created" using the term created loosely, when a human or animal dies.

That link supports the evidence that When a human dies they "lose" weight.

Now the debate is on whether it's realistic, not possible. It's clearly possible no matter how unlikely, but is it realistic? Well i'm going to take a non religious approach at this as I am an athiest. Scientifically, it has not been explained why they lose weight. Something has to be causing it. Death. Death is the cause, and the effect is something "leaving" the body. No, it's not their spirit. Thats highly highly unlikely. What it MOST LIKELY is, is an unseen element is leaving the body to form something new. I'm assuming this element is the same thing that creates human consciousness. So, if thats what is forming our conscousness and it can't be seen, can't it share the properties of a ghost? It can't physically react to our world in this "state" because it's very spread apart or something of the sort. Maybe it has no magnetic capabilities. Which is why, llight won't bounce of it, it can't be measured and it WOULD go through walls. So logically it fits all of the requirements of being a "ghost".
