Gates: U.S. has evidence of Iran helping insurgents
Serial numbers and markings on explosives used in Iraq provide "pretty good" evidence that Iran is providing either weapons or technology for militants there, Defense Secretary Robert Gates asserted Friday.

As we watch the media, we see the public rhetoric between Iran and the U.S. increasing. Both countries are trying to win the public relations "war" by pointing out perceived or actual problems, incitments, or violations.

This is not unlike persons yelling at each other before they come to physical violence. The body has to prepare for fight or flight with an increased heart rate and adrendaline.

History shows us that countries will participate in accusations and arguments, much like individuals, before they fall into a war. Current events between Iran and the U.S. appear to follow this trend. If neither country is willing to "blink", violence will follow.

To make the broad statement that America will only invade a country because it benefits America may be too vauge. Do not all countries invade other countries for some benefit to the invading country? If the argument is that America invades other countries for monetary, land, or power gains; we need to look no further than recent history to invalidate this statement.

Remember Bosnia? America invaded this country with the stated goal of stopping the genocide that was occuring. America did not receive any monetary, land, or power gains in this event.

Iran is next, watch the news.
They are saying Iran is handing ot weapons against us.
Sounds familiar doesn't it? "WMD" should ring a bell. Just another thing the US cannot actually prove, yet have everyone terrified enough of possibilities to check and make sure they are not arming against us. Of course "check and make sure" will quickly become "run and gun," as did Iraq.

We are increasing our forces in Iraq possibly in preperation for Iran. Iraq is becoming a holding tank for the military force that the US will spill across borders into Iran. A very nice strategy.

You are kind of right that the US only attacks for it's own benefit, but what you are not seeing is the benefit in Iran. The benefit of Iran is the same as IRaq in 2 possible ways.

1. Oil
2. A chance to use weapons. The more wat the US has, the more weapons can be used. More weapons used is more weapons bought. The US is paying somone unimaginable amounts of money for weapons. The person being paid is powerful enough to have his hands in the government, especially for the purpose of keeping his cash flow alive, War.

America will never try a war that they cannot dominate in, ever since WW2. Vietnam was awful, many men died, but America was never going to lose. America got away with attacking Iraq despite whatever allies they had. As long as America can make a country seem like an enemy to everyone, they can feel free to take over.

Iraq is the Vietnam of our time, but we are increasing tropp presence there. Iraq is becoming a base, ready to attack Iran. It will more likely become the Iraq+Iran war, we will fight on both soils with the only difference being a "Q" and an "N."

America would ony invade a country if they benefit from it, they wont invade becasue a country has WMD's or Nukes. cus if so, Northkorea said, " hey we have nukes, haha.." and the U.S didnt do sh*t, and i think we all know now that iraq was not invaded for the threat of WMD's.

so iran is no benefit to the US so they wont invade, they will howeve say that the iraqi insurgents are getting srtonger becasue Iran is providing them so they can bomb the living sh*t out of whats left of iraq.

I dont think the US can take on Iran anyway, because Russia will surely back them up, not wanting the US to continue to expand its empire. America wont invade Iran, they might try, but they wont succeed.. hell, even Iraq, is said to be the next Vietnam...no one is really winning anything anyway....one country at a time please.
