http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/12/assange-rape-accuser-cia-ties As you can see, our government doesn't mind deceiving its people. Do you think that the major news channels do not know about the truth? Did you know that it is not illegal for the US government to have them broadcast false, manipulative news? Have you even read anything wikileaks released? Our army murdered hundreds of civilians. Children, too. Everyone who knows that their government is this ruthless is obligated to expose the regimes corruption and fight for what they believe in, even if it means giving up everything that is important to you. And that is exactly was Julian Assange is doing. Thats what wikileaks is doing. And thats what you should be doing as well. Besides, it is clear that most of the public supports Assange and his cause, one example of such support can be found here: http://www.abc.net.au/unleashed/41914.html 4623 comments. Over 4000 signatures. And the numbers are growing every minute.

Private citizens have the luxury of hiding the truth when it's embarrassing, or simply because they don't wish to tell it. Representatives acting in an official capacity on behalf of those citizens do not, and neither do their appointees. When someone asks us to choose them over every other person eager to make decisions for us, we have a pretty broad right to know what decisions are being made. And if they choose to systematically hide decisions in order to "save face," then making that information public falls well within my definition of "good."

Treason is usually used in cases where someone is rebelling and bringing down their own goverment right? Well that wouldn't be a word used to describe Julian Assange due to the fact that the majority of his
"exsposings" have been directed towards other countries and not his own.

Do some reading. Nothing has been leaked that compromises military tactics or intelligence. It's all been diplomatic embarrassments and unethical behavior. Also someone cannot be charged with treason when they're not a US citizen.

There's exposing government's trying to "save face" and then there's exposing government contingency plans, means of obtaining crucial military intelligence, and troop tactics at a time when that government is at war in 2 countries.

The latter is unacceptable and could easily be punished by jail time, borderline treason.
