That's a ridiculous and harmful statement for anyone to say. A vote is a vote for indivisuality. Many people died so that anyone and everyone could vote. Even if you don't agree with some policies everyone needs to make a difference even if it is a small one. If you believe the system doesn't work, vote! Voting is what makes the difference.

why would you bother voting when the system doesnt work anymore. Voting just makes you another number. I refuse to be a number because that takes away my individuality.

for real change we need to go outside and march to our government and tell them they need to do something now! there are starving people everywhere and no one does anything about it. i know i can change the world. some people say im too young but i know they just say that because there scared of what i can do.

Voting has become irrevalent... political figures are merely puppets to the rich.
Your vote won't make a difference, the gap between the political parties are to large.
You typically have only 3 parties to vote for, and neither of them truly holds the publics interest. They will lie and make promises until they can't breath, but once put in office, you won't see a single change, until the next election comes along. The system is corrupt and long gone.
If voting makes you feel like your displaying your so called 'rights', then go ahead and be as delusional as the religious type, but if you can rationalize then you can understand there truly is no purpose anymore for voting, beside comforting the nations citizens in believing they have a choice.

The next sentence is parallel phrasing of George Carlin:
When you need gas, you now have 3 or 4 oil companies to choose from, when it comes to voting you have only 2-3 choice, but sh*t, when it comes to jelly beans, you have 32 flavors!
