You've shared a number of anti-war quotes, which I'm sure took you a significant amount of time to copy and paste. With exception to that of Einstein, which seems a little out of place compared to the others, many of these quotes imply that there is never a cause or principle worth fighting or killing for. In order words, that there is no crime and no horrific action substantive enough to rationalize bringing men and women into conflict with each other. This Iraq topic notwithstanding, is that what you feel?

The war against the Iraqi's is over... Sadam is gone and has been gone for quite sometime. However, you anti-war folks would rather us just leave the civil unrest and allow the citizens of Iraq to fall prey to the terrorists that come into Iraq, recruit and destroy the citizens there. If we did that, you would then cry for us to go back touting, "ethnic cleansing and innocent people dying" in order for us to go back, sacrifice even more of our own lives, just to impose civil order. What is stupid about the anti-war people is that their proposals, wishes and desires cost thousands or even millions more lives than if we just use military might from the start.

Just like the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki... If not for those bombs the US, Canada, South America, Europe and basically the entire world would DEFINITELY faced what China faced just prior to the war....

Japan also invaded Russia as well, which people tend to ignore.... What was China's innocent civilian casualties? About 7 to 16 MILLION....

How about Russia? About 12 to 14 MILLION...

So please quit touting your anti-war rhetoric before it gets us all killed.

Yeah but you nut cases should love war because war cuts down on the population, which when less people are around, then there are less people to destroy the environment, pollute and eat animals.....

"The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us."
Black Elk

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing. ~Albert Einstein

What is absurd and monstrous about war is that men who have no personal quarrel should be trained to murder one another in cold blood. ~Aldous Huxley

War is not the continuation of politics with different means, it is the greatest mass-crime perpetrated on the community of man. ~Alfred Adler

The great question is, can war be outlawed from the world? If so, it would mark the greatest advance in civilization since the Sermon on the Mount.

"How fortunate for governments
that the people they administer don't think."

Each time a person stands up for an ideal,
or acts to improve the lot of others,
or strikes out against injustice,
he or she sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.
Crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring,
those ripples build a current that can sweep down
the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.

What can I say, I'm not really here to debate, and I am not here to judge right or wrong. Perhaps I would debate if I knew it would bring people closer in unity. Silence speaks more to me than words. I can never really find the right words to say, so that is why I love quotes. I Just like to open the minds of people. When I first came to this website it was because I was in search of God, and while I have learned alot for some reason I cannot form it into words. That is why I just have faith, and try to find the right words when the time is right. This is a good place to give people a different perspective on things, the only problem is when winnning and losing become a big deal. Although we do learn from being losers, and winners. I come back to this site now and again, if not to talk then to listen, and learn. As far as the Einstein quote is concerned, I do believe alot of people stand by and do nothing only because they have not awoken to their true potential. The stuff that religon tries to teach, but the true answers lie within, in the silence of God where time, and space do not exist, and yet have always existed. War is war no matter where it takes place. Yes it does serve its purpose, and it will awaken those unconcious faster, and faster, and after the darkness comes the light. If it takes so much suffering to realize this then that is the way it will be, unless we choose to awaken.

With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible
~The Bible

impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. its an opinion. impossible is not a declaration. its a dare. impossible is potential. impossible is temporary.
impossible is nothing.

You don't have to believe imagine. What is human nature, when we are born into a reality that is already created.for us. Return to nature to know what human nature feels like.

6 things wrong with war
1. War kills people.
2. War disables and traumatizes people.
3. War creates refugees.
4. War makes people hungry.
5. War harms the natural environment.
6. War leads to more war

Peace makes alternatives possible.
In the midst of war, it is hard for people to imagine that there are alternatives. But peace provides the space for people to dream, develop, test, and practice other ways of dealing with human conflict. Currently, global military spending is $1.12 trillion. Imagine what might happen if nations invested even a fraction of this into dreaming and pursuing alternatives to war.

Peace makes resolving problems possible.
Most armed conflicts begin because people feel that they have been wronged or dealt an injustice. But conflicts can only be truly resolved as people talk to one another and deal with the root causes of the problem.

Peace makes justice possible.
Some people resort to armed struggle to pursue justice and equality. But armed struggle and warfare result in further injustice. They create additional victims. They give power to those with weapons. They usually disregard the perspectives of children, women and the very vulnerable. Addressing injustice is very important, but there are numerous nonviolent alternatives.

Peace promotes respect for human rights.
International agreements like the Geneva Accords are supposed to prevent things like torture, abuse, rape and sexual violation in wartime. But these human rights violations continue to happen. The problem is war itself. Human rights can only thrive in a context of peace. A growing movement says that peace itself is a human right.

Peace promotes human development.
When nations are not using significant resources toward war-making (or even preparing for war), they have more available to promote education, health care, social supports, economic development, and community building. Children have much greater opportunity to experience childhood, to go to school, to learn and grow as they should. People live with less fear and insecurity; they are able to contribute to their communities in better ways.

Peace makes it possible for enemies to become friends.
During warfare, armed groups have an interest in keeping civilian populations separate from and suspicious of one another. When people don't know anyone from "the other side", they are much more likely to believe the stereotypes and propaganda that they are fed. When peace prevails, it is possible for people on the opposite sides of conflicts to meet each other, talk with each other, and find common bonds. Peace enables them to become friends. Friendship in turn builds more peace.

With peace comes harmony. Humans are capable of living in harmony. Imagine what ift would be like if we spent more time, energy, money into finding soultions to poverty, pollution, stopping the destruction of environments, and any problem. If you believe in unity, then you would want to come up with these solutions.

What will we do when war has reached america?
I would rather see humanity wiped out by nature than to see innocent lives killed, when it should be their basic human right to live. Why put so much effort into a war that cannot create peace only more war. Why not stop it now before it creates more suffering. I see more suffering by continuing any war. Why not be compassionate human beings, and get down to the root of any problem. That way we can create, a solution, and create peace.

The man or woman of peace is creative. They are not against war, because to be against anything is to be at war. They are not against war, they simply understand why war exists. And out of that understanding, become peaceful. Only when there are many people who are pools of peace, silence, understanding, will the war disappear. ~Osho

I disagree with your reason for war. I think war is nessecary, but it shouldn't be used to 'limit the competition'!!! True, there is overpopulation, but you don't kill half the world if there is twice as many people that can be supported. We as humans are smart enough to solve any problem if we try. It is possible to improve the conditions on earth so that everyone can live in good conditions.
