If the reality of war is so very unpalatable to the people, then perhaps it's time we thought of an alternative. Hiding from reality--or allowing others to hide it from us--is a fundamentally flawed strategy.

i want to see some logs but if there are classified ones the keep them but as for how the war is going and things happening with it id like to know now rather then later... we can all start writing our stories on this war with such key evidence that the public is intuned with..

While I agree that things are "Classified" for a reason, I believe we have a right to know what our representative gov't is doing. After all, the gov't determines how WE, the people, look to the world. There should at least be some transparency.

No, Military Records are "Classified" for a reason

When in a time of war, classified military documents are classified for a reason. It is a matter of national security and people can be affected if the leaked information gets to the wrong people. It also puts military operations in risk. For example, the names of Afghan informants and the villages they were from were part of the leak. If any member of the Taliban or Al-Qaeda sees this then the leak has now put the life of not only the informant but their family in danger.

I am all for freedom of the press, but when a person's stupid act like this puts people's lives in danger, it's just wrong. We are smart enough to know that the war in Afghanistan isn't going all that well. It wasn't necessary to leak this information.

If you understand why things are classified, than why argue it?
