Living in the country in a small town is better for people.

The country is indeed a slower pace on life. There is not traffic, as much crime, as much people, and not as much things to stress someone out. Because there is not a lot of people, its easy to know a lot of people. You either know the person, or you've heard of them. There is still a lot of things to do, only its funner. I'll admit that I love going to the city, however, I would rather live in a small town. Also, people are much nicer in small towns. If you live in the city, you've probably never experienced this..."Your driving down the road and someone waves." Lol, that happens like every time you pass someone in the country, I've never had it happen in the city. But it's also a little harder to do anything in the city, because of how fast you have to drive. Its so easy to wreck in the city as well, and in the country, there's barley ever a wreck. Even though today I passed by a small fender bender, thats about all there ever is.

I like the country...only because I can always head out to the city if need be.

A more quiet environment, for me anyways, is much more productive in many aspects. I enjoy not hearing traffic all day long. I also enjoy knowing everyone that lives around me. There are plenty of positives to both. However, this is definately one of those debates I don't see anybody "winning" per-se.

However, I honestly think that living a slower paced life, in general, is probably more healthy for most people.

Well I cannot argue with that except for one thing. Your partially wrong about the last thing you said. People from the country do take it easy, and there are more new things in the city, however, the country usually has something new every day as well.

ok. I can agree with that. The country has a slower pace on life.

-Another reason I think the country is better is because of this slower pace. Yes, many peoples opinion is a faster pace, but I agree with Vague, saying that it is actually probably more healthy in the country. I'll give some reasons.

-First, I've drove in the city, and it is no doubt a little stressful because of the fast pace. The country is slower, there is no real stress while driving. Stress is unhealthy.

-Second, there are more vehicle wrecks in the city. Many people will say that this is because there are more people in the city. This is not true. The reason there are more wrecks in the city is because there are so many people speeding down the road. Even the very slow traffic jams are easy targets for wrecks, because they go from 3 mph to 15 mph and then slam the brake back to 0 mph and continue the cycle. Thats why so many small fender benders occur in the city.

-Third, the city is more dangerous due to crime. This does have to do with the amount of people in the city. There are some crazy people in the country, but it doesn't add up like in the city. There are a lot of crazy people in the city, simply because there is a bigger population. All those crazy people do crimes, and are crazy enough to kill others. There are gangs that commit crimes, and do not only effect other gangs, but members of the normal society. In a shoot out between two gangs, the bullets are not contained, meaning that they can travel long distances and strike innocent civilians. I've seen it happen in a movie theater line. Everyone just though it was fire works, next thing you know, someone's leg is bleeding.

-Fourth and final, is pollution. There is pollution in the country, especially where I live, because I live next to a major paper mill, the biggest paper mill in the United States. It lets out a lot of chemicals and smoke. People from other small towns can easily tell that the pollution in my town is bad by simply breathing in the air. I have lived here my whole life, so this polluted air is completely normal to me. This is how I know I can prove that the city is badly polluted and unhealthy. I am so used to being around polluted air that I can breath it like normal, but when I go to a big city, I can instantly tell the difference in the air, being that the city is more polluted than what I'm used to! And this is remembering that I live next to the biggest paper mill in the United States! Literally, this paper mill is bigger than the town that is is located. It is huge! All that pollution coming out of that mill, and I can still notice the difference between it and the over polluted city.

I think that the country is a better place to live if you prefer a slow-paced lifestyle. Myself, I prefer for things to happen fast. I like adrenaline and the rush of everyday life in the city. It all depends on your out look on life:
If you like taking it easy - Country
If you like something new every day - City.

"I prefered to be happy and poor than rich and unhappy" well that is what people that do not belive on their potencial would say huh? I bet that you and most of the people may want to be a good dentist that have 8 to 9 costumers at day, and each one of them its going to pay you 100$ at least, just for checking their theeth or maybe a excelent lawyer or what ever you want, but want you want its to go further in life, thats way that you need people, but not any kind of people, of course that the people you want are people that are capable to go once at month and pay to you 100$ to check their theeth and thats what a city have to offer you, people that spend money and I bet that with all that money you would take life easier.

Hm. I agree, I was wrong in that statement. Let me rephrase: People in the city usually have something going on that is potentially life changing 24/7, rather than out in the country where things usually happen slowly and over time. I think that states what I was trying to say a little bit better. :P

admit it or not, it is more convenient living in the city.. like, the technology is more advanced, transportation is easier, there are lots of facilities and malls wherein you could hang around anytime and never get bored.. plus, there are more opportunities awaiting the people there..
