I think this debate was worded incorrectly. It should probably read "Is the Swine Flu of greater concern than Aids?"

Regardless, the answer is still no. HIV/Aids is probably the worst human sickness in history.

YES! Finally someone who understands the truth of it!
More people have died from Normal Flu since the outbreak of Swine Flu than Swine Flu itself.

People panic when governments buy lots of medicines at short notice for such things, without realising this is why you shouldn't panic.

I think a lot of attention is being shoved onto Swine Flu to divert away from economy worries.

Media hype and only showing 'deaths' from Swine Flu adds to the panic.

The chances of dying in a first world country with a first world health system is highly unlikely.

AIDS, although not the most deadly disease ever known to mankind, is the worlds biggest disease problem at the moment. Partly because of a Vatican telling people it is wrong to use contraception, and also in part to a lack of contraception when people do what to use it.

AIDS can be a very dangerous disease, since it kills the nerves. It is entirely on a new level.

The Swine flu portrays the same symptoms and characteristics of any other. In all reality, it's only claiming the old and young, much the same as a normal flue (on a somehwat more sporradic basis).

It's nothing to be unduly worried about.

AIDs itself is a much more dangerous disease than swine flu due to the fact that it shuts down your immune response. However, i would like to add that neither disease is anywhere near as dangerous as ebola that has a long incubation period and a 90% kill rate and is incredibly contagious via contact. If somone with ebola boarded an international flight it is likely that around 2/3 of the worlds population could be eradicated in months. So overall neither disease is that important in the face of that, however within this debate AIDs is far more important to the authorities.
