I tired very quickly of, "This is (spraying spittle) Sparta!".

Whereas I'm yet to get even remotely weary of this quote from Gladiator;

"Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

Maximus actually KILLED the Emperor of Rome when he was seeking his vengence. Leonidas, the warrior, the man who has trained all his life in the art of battle, failed to hit the Man-God (who looked like the Defensive End on the Miami Dolphins) when he threw his spear.

Both men were great, but Maximus got the job done in the end.

Yeah but its not "Who would win in a fight?", its "Who is more badass"

*Side note: I refuse to say "B.A.". Too many kids at my high school would listen to that Dane Cook special (Retaliation 1 i believe) and kept saying BA over and over and over and over to the point where they ruined the entire special for me.

Leonidas is more bad ass because he fought hundreds of thousands of persans with only 300 men and some atheinians.

i made this debate for the fact that i am torn.

Maximus fought his way up to the top to get revenge on the one who murdered his family. yes quite B.A.

But Leonidas did lead only 300 soldiers into battle to defeat armys even though grossly out numbered in some cases. Battle tactics that were so advanced for the time it took armys swiftly and by suprise.

Again those are the 2 sides i think but i think i have to lean towards Leonidas ONLY for the fact of numbers.

Gerard Butler and the Spartan actors went through the most bats*** insane technique to get in shape for their role. You can see some of the workout up on youtube, and after watching it its not surprising to hear that they usually puked after each workout session.

Leonidas would totally woop Maximus' ass, NO DOUBT! Spartans were groomed from birth to do one thing: fight and kill. Maximus wouldn't stand a chance.

Leonidas (may his name always rock my soul) kicks Max' azz for several undeliable reasons:

1. His wife was gorgeous!
2. He was fighting for his country rather than to entertain the masses.
3. His courage knew no bounds - he faced 1M Persians with 300 men facing certain death!
4. Did I mention that his wife was gorgeous?

Come back with your shield or on it!

Convince for mentioning the best quote in the movie.

Oh, and for expressing how annoyed you are with people saying THIS-IS-SPARTA!

Leonidas was definately more badass. He was a strategic genius, he was a great warior, and for some reason he kept a giant pit of death in the middle of his city.

killing a god king is much harder then killing an emporer. Leonidas didn't go one on one with the god king because if he did he would have killed him. it has nothing to do with getting the job done.

For those people thinkin that Leo missed to kill Xersestron, he never wanted to. He just wanted to show that even the God king can bleed!! Thats called Attitude!!
