It's a ridiculous money-making scheme!

Scientology is the funniest joke I have heard since this one ...

Why does Michael Jackson like twenty eight year old's so much?

Because there are twenty of them.

In all seriousness though. Scientology is such nonsense just like every other religion out there. It is so sad to me that human beings are invariably gullible enough to believe in fairy tales. Hopefully the human race will continue to evolve and one day religion will cease to have so many followers.

Unlike some of the more overzealous anti-Scientologists out there, I'm of the belief that the RELIGION of Scientology is fine. If it really helps people, thats great and I wish them the best of luck with it.

However its the price tag the CHURCH of Scientology places on its religion that I find incredibly offensive. Religion should be free, information should be free. Charging people to pay a fee in order to progress through the religion's system is utterly ridiculous.

On top of this their "fair game" policy towards any who openly question Scientology is downright frightening and unacceptable on all levels.

Absolve the church, let the religion remain.

Xenu the galactic alien overlord? Give me a break. Is there anything substantial at all about this religion?

Oh come on, guys. There are very, very few people in the world that actually "believe" the Scientology BS. Most recognize it for the (barely legal) pyramid scheme that it is, and partake anyway.

"Could it be true?" I asked myself. "Millions?"

I immediately went hunting for some documentation somewhere. How hard can it be, really, to get an estimate of membership to this wacky pyramid scheme?

Apparently, credible estimates range from the tens-of-thousands to the millions as you've said. Nobody really knows how big this group is.

So, fools and their money, as far as I'm concerned. Proves that new-age religion is in fact a viable economic model. (Deja Vu : I used a similar line to describe exchanging weapons-tests for aid in DPRK)

Hard to imagine famous famous people from entertainment and private industries being asinine. Harder still to believe that I have yet to find a way to sufficiently capitalize off of it :-)

The arguments for Christianity are far more substantial than arguments for Scientology. You mock them out of ignorance. Something tells me you have never read the opposition to your belief, only seen straw men knocked down repeatedly

It's for real; all churches today require money to function!

I don't think it was started as anything but a money making scam. I think L. Rob Hubbard was a horrible human being who either wanted to make some money or make a statment about organized religion.

But I actually believe that the people who run it today truly believe it. It just takes a little time to turn a scam into a not-for-proit. But really....that makes me all the more sad.

Very tragically Scientology is for real, it is not a fantasy. Even more sadly and tragically is that their philoposhy and theology is exploitative and a crock of ka ka

B K if you lived here in Scientology birthplace's Metro L A or at its new HQ in Central FL-ask Sandi, you would not make such an underwhelming remark, very few people? no way, millions baby, many millions proving the gullibility of mankind

Among their followers are many wealthy and "famous" fools from the Arts, entertainment and private industries.
