It isn't so far fetched. Scientists have proven that at one point all four elements needed to sustain life were present on Mars. Heat, Water, Energy, and Carbon.

This is not a yes or no question as it has not been proven one way or another. I am a follower of all of the MArs expedition since the mid-70s when my uncle still was employed at JPL and Cal Tech here in Pasadena.

It appears that Mars had the necessary elements to sustain at least some sort of simple life forms but it can not be acertained for sure or not as of this writing

It is every bit as debateable as the existence of god. You can choose to believe that there was life on Mars given the evidence. or that there was not.

There is no proof, either way.

Yet, some of the patterns of crystallization seem indicative of primitive life forms - at least, in the past.

I certainly hope there is no life on Mars now - if there were any, it would make human colonization that much more complex and difficult.

You think the question Is there life on Mars should be answered by science? But you don't believe scientific fact and evidence applies to god?

I don't think so because life on Mars, yeah or neah will be based on actual facts of sceince and exploration. God or not is based on faith, I am a God believer but I have no proof, just my instinks and faith

Well although I would like to see scientific fact and evidence applied to God, reality tells me it is impossible as demonstrated over the centuries of debate about whether or not God exists yet science has proven and or disproven other aspects about life.

Life or not on MArs will be proven by science and exploration and God will still be a matter of faith, mark my words My faith and belief in God is not based on science because there is nothing in sceience that shows me there is a God yet i still believe
