You can't increase the intensity of nothingness but the quantity can easily be increased if you decrease the quantity the its opposite (existence).

So like brivapor said, you just decrease matter within a given space, and viola, there it is.

Increasing something is a matter of making more of it.

'More' (like 'less') is a predicate that only applies to existing objects.

Nothingness is not an existing object.

Therefore "more nothing" and "less nothing" are improperly formed phrases and thus meaningless.

Therefore nothing can't be increased.

Why should decreasing the total amount of stuff in existence cause an increase in nothingness? Nothingness just isn't a thing at all, so there can't be more or less of it.

Decreasing the matter within a given space doesn't increase nothingness, it creates a vacuum. But a vacuum is something. It may not be matter but it is a thing that can be and is measured and studied by scientists: it has existence.
