Ha! You're funny.
Honestly had me going for a sec. I just think it's so funny to believe that people "chose" to be gay. There is a link between genetic code and primal desires. You do what you want to do. You chose not to cheat on your wife because you do not feel that you have to sleep with other women. For other people this is different. And some genetic sequences aren't always inherited. Some can't be inherited, and occur in the form of random mutations, which accelerates evoultion. Random mutations occur all the time and form many "genetic" diseases like DOWNS syndrome. Sometimes they are beneficial, and in turn are passed down to the next generation. You don't have to inherit homosexuality, although I'm sure you could.

You are a very funny man. Seriously, you should try stand-up comedy.

Not arguing for that.

Succient answer:
People do things because that is the way they are programmed to think or react when presented with a situation or information. Generalised genetic differences like skin pigment is seen as a threat by some people, although in most cases subconsciously. We are all the offspring of successful breeders; and as such have inherited traits that allow us to seek out and propogate the closest branches of DNA to our own. People seek this out through family (blood), friends (ideas, disposition), and more generally, communities, churches, and nations.

I don't agree with this, I'm just explaining it.

The official reason given is that it turns away from the way God designed us. He intended for man and woman to be together, and gay relationships defy this. He also created sex as a reproductive act only, hence the Catholic stance on abortion and contraception. Sexual relationships are meant to take place between a husband and wife, and are meant to be life-giving, something that obviously doesn't apply to homosexual relationships.

However, it's far too broad of a generalization to say that Catholics hate gays. I have an enormous Catholic family, and not one of them has a problem with homosexual people, just as more and more Catholics are becoming lax about divorce and attending mass.

You need to stop being so disrespectful. This is a civil site where people can actually debate issues instead of hurling insults around. If you don't agree with Catholicism, that's fine, but keep your childish insults to yourself.
