Bill looks at religion in a similar fashion as the late, great George Carlin did, he's right, from a logic point of view the tenents of religion are nearly impossible to believe.

Humanity requires to make sense of existence, it's difficult for most people to know that we know nothing about the big picture, it's all speculation.

Remember, faith is believing in something logic tells you can't be true

Well I see it the same way he does, Religions are asinine when they compell you to believe outragious things. I think they way he was potraying the birth of Jesus was perfect with its sacastic attitude trying to make people view the subject as if they never heard it before.

In reference to his show i believe you are entirely right. On his show he is a typical obnoxious anti-religious person that as you said, "doesnt just think he's right but that anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot". Thats one of the few times when i think that Maher's true ignorance is shining. But this interview was a little different.

Maher was completely right in saying that religious people usually arent asked difficult questions that make their faith presentable to non believers. In my opinion there should be a legitimate reason why a person would do anything, especially something as important as believe in God. What i dont like about Maher's movie is that he only questions stupid people. From what i've gathered from his interview with Jon Stewart is that he singled out the citizens of the "United Stupid of America" and asked them. THis is somewhat justifiable because stupid people vote and stupid people believe in God, but if Maher wanted to make a great movie, he should have sat down with some people who actually know what they're talking about.

*Side note: Jon Stewart completely rolled over in this interview, i'm frankly a little dissapointed.

As per usual Bill Maher suffers from being one of those people who doesn't just think he's right but that anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. He brings up an occasional good point but I wish for one second he could try and look at things from a different perspective.

The difference between the two? Carlin was funny. Bill is not.
