I actually think they have. We may have missed it. Or someone didn't but covered it up. I mean, people say there's aliens actually working at Area 51. I think if they're anywhere then they are probably there.(Not necessarily 'working', but being tested on maybe). I've read a lotof 'true' stories about peoples' encounters with extra-terrestial life, and although some are pretty convincing, I think it's one of those thingsa where you can't believe it until you see it.
Anyway, aliens might not be made up of the same chemicals as us, they may have elements from their planet/galaxy which we haven't discovered yet. Maybe they're invisible. Or too small to see.

There's no reason to think that any have visited, but the basic idea isn't nuts. If you want nuts, try the supernatural and religion.

God created aliens to visit earth. He gave them knowledge and technology to cross vast amounts of space to inspect our sphincters.

There is vast evidence in archeology that extraterrestrials have been here. A series of questions makes it tough to argue otherwise.
How did Egyptian civilization arise almost out of no where in history? How were the pyramids built in ways and locations well beyond the technology of the time? Why did pyramids arise in completely separated areas and cultures? How were the monoliths of Puma Punku built by natives with no written language and with materials that would have required tools well beyond their technology? (in fact experts say that even today such a structure would be near impossible to build mind laser cutting tools and cranes)
From a scriptural perspective, there are tons of references in many cultures to things that if taken literally could easily describe UFOs or other technology way beyond theirs.
Although these questions can be answered without aliens involved, the lengths that one must go to are so unlikely that the alternative is much simpler: we got help.

Your reason.. Fully satisfies the criteria of a human being who lived without television and internet.

1st of all almost 1 million people around the world .. Claims they have been abducted by ufo and unknown beings .. ( expect them To lie? Watch their videos .. And tell me if their tears were fake) ... Let me remind you millions of people

2nd Nasa .. And all people working for Nasa .. Knows and can confidently claim .. that there are millions of galaxy in the universe...
Any person ( except naives) can conclude that out there .. There are life forms existing

3rd if you dont beleive aliens visited earth.in ancient times.. How can you explain.. All mythologies.. Legends .. Folks around the WORLD ..
Claiming that some God came down to them and helped them.... ?

Lastly if.. Ever you'll be abducted .. Which i hope.. Reply to this rebuttal

Aliens are just a myth that some pot-heads made up to have some fun. Now, the world has adopted the tradition. Sure, it may be fun to believe that aliens did visit the earth, but it's all a big hoax. Everyone who claims to have seen a UFO, are just wanna-be's nagging for attention.

Its really unknown... everyone likes to assume that any aliens we meet will be somewhat humanoid and at the very least we will be able to identify them as a life-form. However, the truth is that if we find alien life or are visited by them we may not even recognize it as something that is alive, we may not know how to classify what we see as an alien. The universe is so vast that the criteria that constitutes life elsewhere may be completely different

It seems that aliens must have visited here, and that they keep trying to come here illegally - why else would there be such a big fuss about them in the US?

Seriously, though, we need to be very very careful how we define what we mean by 'aliens' or 'alien life forms'.... the key concept being 'life forms that did not originate on Earth'. Because depending on the 'spin' one chooses to give this concept, it could potentially include deities, ghosts, and a whole lot of other 'beings'. No, I am not joking: 'a sentient life form which did not originate on this planet' - from Arch-angels up tp God the creator - and back down to HUMANS - it could fit. (Remember, humans were CAST OUT of the garden of Eden and sent DOWN to Earth - that IS an interpretation I have encountered among several Christian sects.) According to some religions WE ARE the aliens...

Mediacal professionals have noted the similarities that exist between the claims of 'Angel-encounters' from the past and present, and 'Alien encounters' from the current era - and can pinpoint the areas of the brain that light up with activity on an MRI scan of people who claim to be having these experiences. This in itself does not PROVE anything, but it seems to suggest that there may be a connection there worth a deeper look.

While there is evidence that people believe to have encountered all sorts of 'beings', there is no actual physical evidence of such beings themselves. And, in the absence of evidence, there is no basis for belief.

As for conspiracy theories hiding this evidence from us all - perhaps those who subscribe to them give humans too much credit: we are very bad at not selling out sensational secrets! Just think, the book and movie deals, the talk-show circuit, the money, the jocks...no - the temptation to sell out would make sure SOMEBODY let the alien cat out of the bag...

This, of course, does not mean that we should stop having fun searching!

I still doubt it sometimes, but I honestly believe we have been visited and more importantly, we've made contact of some sort.

I know there's no concrete, scientific evidence, but just studying up and looking at all the information on this topic leads me to believe that at some point in human history, we've made contact. It's just either been lost in history, covered up and usually just flat-out denied. Most people will say you're crazy if you tell them you've seen a UFO. But now so many people have seen them, including a few US presidents (Carter, Reagan) and the former Arizona governor coming out and saying he's seen something that is without a doubt not from this planet.

"in the absence of evidence, there is no basis for belief" isn't that exactly what belief is?? you don't need evidence to believe.

Yeah, the whole forum they're talking about was highly interesting. If there's any group in the world that is capable of making honest claims of UFO sightings, it is aviators. And they've been doing it since man took to the skies. I mean, the stories you hear about pilots with 30-odd years of flight experience saying they've seen a UFO is hard to deny. Just examine the most widely-witnessed UFO sightings and it increasingly becomes clear that something is going on. Maybe it's not extraterrestial beings, but there is something strange going on in the skies across the globe. It can't be denied anymore.

I somewhat agree, but I think the argument isn't about life, but about higher intelligence. Obviously, only something with intelligence beyond our understanding could navigate the universe. Obviously.

Yes, but its still very possible that we don't hold a high enough contemplation of the universes full capacity regarding intelligence either.

There are many different concepts we term 'belief'.

Some are statements of 'what ought to be' - like 'I believe that all men are equal before the law' - I am not citing evidence, or making a statement of faith: I am saying what I think 'ought' to be.

Another use of the word 'belief' is 'strong conviction' - where conviction is an opinion which is the result of strong evidence: 'I believe that when I drop this apple, it will accelerate towards the centre of the Earth.'

It can also be a statement of 'pragmatic resignation: 'I believe that I exist' ( I KNOW I cannot objectively prove it, but I choose to behave as if I could...).

It is often used as a synonym for 'having faith in'. That is the sense that other posts on the topic used it - and I should have been more cognisant of that and adjusted my language accordingly.... Your admonition is appropriate and I thank you for it!

I used the term 'belief' in a different sense than the other posts, and I do apologize for that because it was confusing and inappropriate. Please, accept my assertion that I meant the term in the looser, 'conviction held as a result of strong evidence' sense, not in the 'having faith in' sense.
