I think it was a genuine attack on the US by terrorist but i think it could have been prevented. The secret intelligence group the NSA knew there were terrorist in the country when the 2 members of al queida landed in the US. They should have reported this to the FBI who were the only people that could have moved against the al queida members in the US. But they didn't report it and threatened to jail anyone else who reports it to the FBI. Also a lot of the anti terrorist laws that came after 9/11 dosent have anything to do with terrorism. I think this is a step from the government to use 9/11 as a excuse to control everyone like they do in China and other communist states.

I believe that with the lack of evidence there should be a lack of certainty in both situations. Weather it was an inside job or a genuine attack on the U.S., however I would side with the latter. This is because with the lack of evidence, we must trust what the government claims. The burden of proof lies on the side that states it was an inside job because as Christopher Hitchens said, “What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof.”

I believe it was a genuine attack, i agree with Ahmed the burden of proof lies with those who claim it was an "inside job" or "something similar" I've seen quite a few of the theories that get posted online and I've never seen anything that could stand up in a court of law.

I am torn...on one hand, there is no solid evidence, but then again
that doesn't exclude the possibility. I am open to new info/ideas.

Guys, just a quick fact. The United States of America funded Al Qaeda with 5 or 6 billion dollars.

Aware that humans can being willing to stick each other in ovens, or murder eachother for money, I wouldn't say this idea was impossible. i do however think most conspiracies are bunk. It would be far easier (and cleaner for the conspirators) to instigate the attack by actual terrorist, rather than have other Americans perform the attack. You could send a desperately poor, uncaring C.I.A. informant to the middle east and have them broach the plan quietly. They could even quietly push funding in the way of the possible attackers to entice them to make the strike. The conviently pre-packaged-just-add-water-and-microwave idea, backed up with money, could then be snatched up by the leadership of the terrorist organizations and the origins of the plan kept quiet, either because no one legitimately remembers who brought the idea up, or intentionally to maintain an aura of prestige around the terrorist leadership to create the idea that it was they who created such a "brilliant" plan. It is honestly something that could be done. There is no question of whether the physics of this are plausible. Humans lie and corral eachother...there is no question that that happens. Also, this idea is so, so simple, easy to execute, and again, requires much less risk to the conspirators. Anyone attacking America from the inside would be stupid to not go about it in this way, and instead risk wiring up a building with c4. Also, similar to an intentional attack by the inside, is the equally ruthless and fucked up possibility that the government saw it coming and simply let it happen so they would have an excuse for military intervention in the Middle East. This would in a way be even worse, because there is much less we can do to prove this, and so our chances of prosecuting anyone involved in the decision to let Americans be murdered by terrorists would be much lower compared to those of a goverment official we could prove had connections to someone broaching and funding a terrorist operation. P.S. Fuck FaceBook.
