Even your sloth can be overcome by "googling " this subject. There are mountains of credible, verifiable data and sources which prove conclusively that this silly warming thing is simple mass hysteria...which you are invited to totally reject as I expect you to... knowing your proclivity for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I could not agree more my point was the originators comparision of earth and venus and if the earth was the same distance from the sun as venus it would be very much the same way

The reason venus is hot is mostly because of its greenhouse efect.
so if global warming is real and continues, then it will become like venus, but venus will probably be different byt then

This isnt about humans effect (or lack thereof ) on the temp, it is that if global warming is happening, will it make earth like venus!!

Which is why I find Tggdan's population debate so compelling. We simply must find way of capping the population amount that the planet can support or face a very grim reality about the fragility of our lives on this green earth.

definitely. if we can contain the global population to an amount that does not exceed the 'max capacity' then the problem should be manageable with the aid of the earth's climate system

venus and earth already HAD greenhouse gasses without smokestacks and cars and crap

Nice job making a ridiculous statement that manages to barely relate itself to my argument.

Its maintaining FUTURE population (ie. all the babies that have not been born yet, next-generation, future-generations, what-have-you), in case that point went over your head.

"Venus may be the least hospitable place for life in the solar system." Its atmosphere is composed mostly of carbon dioxide. The surface temperature is hot enough to melt lead. There is a runaway greenhouse effect because of the dense atmosphere composed of carbon dioxide. There are winds of up to 50 mph The clouds are composed of sulfuric acid and the pressure on the surface is 92 times greater than the bottom of the ocean on earth. The gravity is 5 times greater than earth's. Venus is very inhospitable and would present too many difficulties to colonize. And now that I have done some looking I wouldn't want to be on that colony.

Venus is surrounded in lava. It isn't capable of supporting life.

It is a lot closer to the sun , the reson it is so much hotter anthe gravity is a lot more than earth, pressure and temp is more likly the cause of the carbon dioxide atmophere and the clouds of sulfuric acid.

The effects of Global Warming are blown out of proportion by the media and even Mr.Global Warming himself Al Gore. If the planet changes one degree nothing extremely major is going to happen, but Al Gore makes it seem like there will a gigantic catastrophe where everyone will burn up. I love how this political BS convinces people.

'Global warming" is an hysterical "the world is coming to an end" overreaction that is part of a craftily schemed plan to financially "hijack" developed nations into paying huge reparation penalties for alleged enviro-crime that has never happened.

Al Gore has positioned himself as the Great spokesperson for this idiocy for which not one bit of credible evidence actually exists.

You do realize MARS is experiencing GLOBAL WARMING, too don't you? Last I checked there weren't any cars or planes or smokestacks there...

Global warming has nothing whatsoever to do with a planet's distance from the sun. The earth isn't moving closer to the sun. That's not the cause of global warming. It's because more sunlight is getting trapped by gases in the atmosphere and less is being reflected back into space.

I also think the global warming debate is being blown out of proportion. If you look at all the graphs, the earth is actually approaching when another ice age should occur. They occur with a fairly regular basis. The earth heats up right before an ice age occurs. I think perhaps humans might have sped it up just a tad, but I think most of it is actually a natural occurrence.

If the world really was interested in saving the planet they would stop producing roads and cities.

The urbanization of mankind is more responsible for the planet warming than any greenhouse gasses. Large stretches of black roads absorbing and containing heat energy that would otherwise have re-radiated off the surface.

If global warming really exists a decrease in greenhouse gas production would have minimal effects, seeing as what is reduced is just a drop in the ocean compared to the bigger problem.

Gee, we checked and the earth exceeds max capacity by the exact number of people in your family, kindly deal with that, before we have to send the death squad out...
