Dr. Strangelove had a humorous mood throughout. Great performances by George C. Scott, Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers, and Peter Sellers. The unforgettable scene at the end when Slim Pickens rides the nuclear warhead to its detonation. This movie was masterfully laced with the risks and madness of the time. Fail-Safe, on the other-hand, was too heavy-handed, although the mood was more dramatic, it had several missteps. What was Walter Mathau's role in this movie? As a matter of fact, why did this movie even include that room full of politicians. Nothing they did mattered to the president, then he destroyed his own city. How crazy is that? This movie angered up the blood.

Fail-Safe (original version) is the better film

I will not vote for either film because of the unfair comparison, Fail Safe is a serious real life drama and Dr. Strangelove is a comedic parody, both very fine films that I enjoy watching over and over again, as a youg teen i saw both these flix at the cinema.
