Sports can be one way or another for students to enjoy school.. but how about those students who actually just do sports and don't anymore give importance to academic programs.. which technically speaking is the main purpose of school...

as what is stated there the word 'hold back' can mean that students can play sports when they have sufficiently reached the required grade for them to play a particular sport....if a student who is particularly fond of playing basketball for example will be required to do all he can do to get the required grade for him to play basketball...

it can also help in banishing bullies in the school since most of the bullies in the school are those jocks who thinks their sport is just the thing that matters...

therefore, I think school should hold back from sports because of grades.

Yes, They are going to school after all, It should be their primary focus, extra curriculum activities should be seen as secondary, failure to do well well result in a suspension. Serves as an incentive to get that student to bring up those grades. It's not "football academy" or "Basketball tech"

I don't want to say this, but yes they should hold students back from sports because of grades. I think if they do this it will make the student try harder knowing they can't get back in the sport till their grades go up. Its kinda like a wake up call for those jocks who think that sports is the only thing that matters.
