Euthanasia should be legal, as a life of pain and no quality of life is not worth living

Rebuttal to: Jim Gordon Show

This is horrible. Nobody suggests euthanasia for being bored, that is terrible. What some people claim is that life in a coma, with a terminal illness, or on the brink of certain death is not a life that needs to be continued.
I would also like to counter the idea of only focusing on "depressing brain chemicals". People with depression are unable to just be happy. That's the whole point. One can't just chose to ignore the "brain chemicals", because EVERY SINGLE THOUGHT is "brain chemicals". We can't just chose to ignore them. As someone who has suffered with depression, it isn't something one can just get over. It takes time, possibly medication, and this post is terribly uninformed and offensive

For the person saying euthanasia is for people feeling depressed, in this case I don't think it should be legal, as like you say psychiatric help can allow people to bounce back and have a full life.

On the other hand, when it concerns someone who is severely disabled or extremely weak (due to old age) I think it should be legal.
The main concern is people might feel pressured into saying they want to die because they don't want to be a burden, but honestly I don't think this would be the case. First of all, no family member would pressure someone into dying! Secondly, dying is not a small commitment! It would be very unlikely someone would say they want to die just to save their family a bit of time and money.

I think it's wrong to make someone live in pain when they quite clearly just want to be at peace. There is nothing anyone can do to help them, so the only resolution is giving them their wish. Watch the movie 'the sea inside'. It's a Spanish film but I'm sure you can find it online with English subtitles. It's about a man who had an accident and was paralysed. He hates his life and fights to have the right for someone to help him die. The law is not passed, so a number of people perform a number of tasks-each leading to him being able to die. None of them did enough to be tried for assisted suicide. It is a very emotional film and will give you a different perspective.

Euthanasia should be illegal, every life is sacred, and it is prone to gross misuse

Life might seem dull at some moments, but like all things even the dullness will come to pass. If you are depressed I advice u give into the materialistic comforts of today's world. Buy junk food, masturbate, get high, eat icecream!! So much to feel and do and u are gonna focus only on ur depressing brain chemicals?

Euthanasia should never be legal. Every person was created by god, the Creator and he is His own property. God, the Creator forbids killing any live creature unless there is a real , strong and legal reason. Instead of killing them we should do our best to help those who are suffering from illness, poverty, etc in order to live better and happy live or until God the Creator ends their life.
