According to traditions and beliefs of many people, there are no perfect people. But the question is, if there are no perfect people why did Christ said,
Matthew 5:48 Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
This is a challenge for everyone who believes that there are no perfect people in the Bible.
I will prove, based on the Bible as our main source, that there are perfect people ever existed and exists here on Earth.
You said that in the Bible, Christ is the only perfect. I am not against to your belief that Christ is perfect. But he is not the only one.
Let us read.
Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
Job was a perfect man. Although he is a sinner, he was considered perfect. Another is Noah.
Gen. 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
Noah was also perfect in his generation. Now, is having sin can be a basis to be imperfect?
I Kings 8:46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;
I Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
There is no man that sin not and if we say that we are not sinning, we are deceiving ourselves.
We can be perfect. Why? Because Christ commanded us to be perfect.
Mat. 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
This is also the job of St. Paul, to make every person perfect.
Col. 1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Now, how can be perfect?
II Tim 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
All Scriptures inspired by God can be used by man to be perfect and throughly furnished unto all good works. When we obey God, we can be considered perfect.
James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man,and able also to bridle the whole body.
We must follow God's commandment so we can be perfect. This is the teaching of Christ and Paul. People of must be perfect. Paul and early Christians are also perfect men.
Phil 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
There are many people who were made perfect. And this perfection was done by the Scriptures inspired by God.
Heb. 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect
If we obey Him, we can be considered perfect. Having sins is not a basis for perfection. The real perfection is based on the Bible.
As I have said in my previous argument, everybody has sins. But sin is not a basis of being imperfect. To be a perfect person, you must follow God's commandment.
II Tim. 3:15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
All Scriptures inspired by God can make a man perfect if he will follow them.
James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any
man offend not in word, the same is a perfect
man,and able also to bridle the whole body.
That is a perfect man. That is not a simile nor a metaphor. It is Biblical. There are perfect people.
My question is, where can you read that only Jesus Christ is perfect? That is only your belief. That is not Biblical. Because in the Bible, there are many people that are perfect even though they have sins.
